Pre-Formulation Development

At pre-formulation stage Custom technical team experts will run a series of solubility assessment and material characterisation tests on the drug candidate to inform the selection of the most appropriate bio-enhancement strategy: by combining information from your design intent (i.e. dose strength, target release profile, patient population) with key drug substance solubility and physiochemical properties, our technical team can screen optimised formulations based on a variety of bio-enhancement techniques: co-crystal, complexation, amorphous solid dispersion, lipid based formulation to improve drug dissolution and to maximise drug therapeutic performance.

• State of the art material science laboratory equipment with thermal analysis capability (DSC, TGA, HSM), particle sizing and imaging techniques, Dynamic Vapour sorption.
• Bespoken approach to the selection of the most appropriate bio-enhancement strategy. Selection guided by client requirement (dose strength, target release profile, patient population) and drug candidate physiochemical properties)
• Able to offer a variety of bio-enhancement techniques: co-crystal, complexation, amorphous solid dispersion, lipid-based formulation to improve drug dissolution and to maximise drug therapeutic performance
• Maximise the chances of success by integrating the development of the bioenhancement solution with the formulation and drug product development. The development starts with the end in mind.
